It was around 15 minutes into this job when I arrived on the scene, and what greeted me was an intense fire venting from the roof. The companies were already inside the attic and had managed to hit the fire from below fairly quickly. There were a few things that caught my attention. First off, take a look at how Truck 55 was positioned—some people call this technique "beaching," and it seemed to work exceptionally well in this situation. Additionally, notice how the ground ladders were placed to cover all sides of the structure. The photos of Squad 7 depict the same rig used in the TV show *Chicago Fire*. The "7" on the door looks like a professional paint job to me, which suggests they’ll be keeping this rig for a while. It’s always interesting to see such action unfold in an area that’s usually quite peaceful.
