This message comes from Dennis McGuire, Jr.: "The Alsip Fire Department, working alongside the Garden Homes Fire Protection District and the Homewood Acres Fire Protection District, recently conducted a controlled burn at a vacant property located at the intersection of 120th Street and Hamlin Avenue in Alsip, Illinois. This training exercise took place over the course of about a month, with all three departments participating in various smaller drills and practice scenarios within the structure prior to the final burn." As I arrived toward the end of this intensive training period, I was fortunate enough to witness the culmination of their efforts and document the final stages of this process. It was truly remarkable to see how well-coordinated and professional everyone was throughout these exercises. Attached below are several images capturing different moments during the event: [Image Caption] A Garden Homes FPD captain supervising the garage burn.
