From Jeff Braun, Jr.: I just arrived at the scene of a house fire in Berwyn around 9 PM on December 26, 2017, located at 3524 South Gunderson Avenue. When I got here, there was intense fire visible on both the Alpha and Delta sides of the building. It was quite an intense situation to witness. — Jeff Braun Jr., COUNTY-WIDE FIRE PHOTOGRAPHY --- Attached are some images I took of the incident. The first picture shows firefighters working hard to battle the flames that had completely engulfed the house under the cover of darkness. It's always impressive to see how they manage to keep their focus and determination even in such challenging conditions. The second image captures an Oak Park Fire Department tower ladder in action, which played a crucial role in reaching the higher levels of the burning structure. You can really see the scale of the operation from this angle. In another shot, you’ll notice a Seagrave aerial ladder truck at the scene, ready to assist with any high-angle rescues or firefighting efforts. These vehicles are essential for situations like these where access to upper floors is needed quickly. There’s also a picture of several fire chiefs coordinating efforts on-site. Their calm demeanor amidst the chaos speaks volumes about their experience and leadership skills. Finally, one more shot highlights another Seagrave truck being utilized effectively during the response. It’s fascinating to see all the equipment and manpower involved in managing a fire of this magnitude.
