The Midlothian Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 22, has recently been added to the site. The department operates from two stations: Station 1 is staffed by full-time firefighters, while Station 2 relies on part-time personnel. This fire department is equipped with a fleet of Pierce apparatus, including three fire engines and two squad units, ensuring they are well-prepared for emergency response.
A recent photo of Midlothian Station 2, located at 14700 S. Homan Avenue, was taken by Dennis McGuire, Jr. It gives a glimpse into the daily operations of the second station. Another image shows Engine 4, the newest unit in the fleet—a 2011 Pierce Saber pumper. This modern engine is a key asset for the department, captured by Karl Klotz.
Squad 2707, another important unit, was also photographed by Dennis McGuire, Jr. The department also maintains older but well-maintained equipment, such as Engine 2723, which was originally a Pierce Squirt and later updated. A 1973 P-Series Seagrave engine, rebuilt by Pierce in 1994 with a new cab, is still in service as Engine 2. This historic unit, featuring a 1,250-GPM pump and 300 gallons of water, was documented by Larry Shapiro. These vehicles highlight the mix of modern and classic equipment that keeps the Midlothian Fire Department operational and effective.
