Ticona has announced that it will add an integrated engineering plastics compounding device to its parent company Celanese's recently commissioned plant to further expand its strong position in the Asian market.
The new 15,000-ton/year plant will be put into production in the first quarter of 2009, using the company's various engineering thermoplastics to produce advanced engineering plastic compounds for customers in the region. The device will support the application development center that Ticona recently opened in Shanghai. Ticona will steadily develop its engineering plastics production capacity in China through independent investment and joint investment with Asian partners including its subsidiary, Polyplastics.
