Laiwu Steel's 1500mm hot-rolled strip project is a key project of the “10th Five-Year†technical transformation of Laiwu Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. It is a large-scale rolling steel project that is fully undertaken by domestic companies for the whole line design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning and technical responsibility. The steel rolling process design and factory design is China Metallurgical Huatian Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. The whole line of machine, electric and hydraulic equipment is contracted by Dalian Heavy Industry-Hangzhong Group Co., Ltd., and the automation control is controlled by Dazhong Electric Control Factory and Beijing University of Science and Technology. And Tianjin Electric Transmission Research Institute jointly subcontracted.
The project broke ground on May 6, 2004, with a total investment of more than 1 billion yuan, annual production capacity of 2 million tons, total installed capacity of 105,700 kilowatts, product width of 800-1400 mm, product thickness of 1.2-20 mm, mainly producing carbon. Plain structural steel, high quality carbon structural steel, low alloy high strength structural steel, pipeline steel hot rolled coil. The product has the remarkable features of wide application range, high finished product rate and low processing cost.
The project adopts a semi-continuous production process with a hot coiling machine consisting of an E1 vertical rolling mill and an R1 four-roll reversing rolling mill. The intermediate billet is taken up by a hot coiling box or directly passed through. The finishing mill is E2. Vertical rolling mill and F1-F6 six four-high rolling mills, the finishing mill adopts constant speed rolling, and the core parts such as heating furnace, hot coil box and three electric control digest and absorb the leading technology of Germany, France and Canada. This set of production process equipment is mature and reliable, not only meets the annual production requirements, but also has a lower construction investment than the 3/4 continuous rolling process. Industry experts recognize that its automation level, process layout, technical equipment, and comprehensive utilization of resources represent the advanced level of similar facilities in China.
