In the world of construction, roughly 70% of rework can be traced back to the gap between what's designed and what's actually constructible. As a project progresses, making changes becomes increasingly difficult and expensive. By prioritizing constructability during the design phase, teams can prevent costly rework down the road. Since most of a project's value is created in its initial stages, when mistakes are easier to correct, ensuring accuracy early on becomes more vital than ever—highlighting the importance of consistent communication. Today, we’re introducing several solutions to help project teams make everyday decisions earlier without needing specialized technical skills or applications. These new features will offer comprehensive and actionable support, enabling teams to prioritize tasks, weigh trade-offs, build on their instincts, and validate assumptions, ensuring better-informed choices. Let’s explore how these updates will bridge the gap between design and execution. Firstly, it’s essential for project teams to trust that their documents are construction-ready, current, and precise. Irrelevant or inaccessible information can cause confusion, disputes, and errors. To address this, we're launching Correspondence, a tool that consolidates all project communication into a single source of truth within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Correspondence gives project leaders open-ended, searchable, and organized communications stored within ACC, making it easier to communicate and uncover key decisions. Teams can create and structure all correspondence from ACC and import threads directly from Outlook or Gmail. Now, all communication is easily retrievable, ensuring project quality and minimizing disputes. “The Correspondence tool is incredibly promising,” said Chris Rossetto, VDC Manager at Hansen Yuncken. “It has the potential to be a game-changer for us and the industry. Currently, we feel limited by the rudimentary platforms we use to manage correspondence and store project information. I’m excited about what’s ahead—this could bring us closer to operating a single-platform common data environment (CDE).” Additionally, since design models can overwhelm field teams, we’re introducing Model Quality Workflows, a suite of features that support translating design models into construction-ready ones. This month’s release lets anyone on the project team—from the BIM manager to the project engineer—curate custom views for on-site teams that are highly relevant and easy to understand. By giving teams access to well-defined models early and often, on-site teams can improve installation efficiency. ![Advanced filters allow you to customize models for the office or out onsite.](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/fcf53f09f58ff81d900344e9b61d2482.jpg) We’re also rolling out Sheets Collection, which helps teams better organize sheets and quickly access relevant drawings. For those managing multi-building construction projects, this feature allows them to store and manage drawings with identical names, streamlining the document management process and centralizing important construction data in one place. This eliminates the need to create and manage multiple projects or add prefixes to sheet names. Sheets are accessible to both office and field teams for large-scale multi-building projects. Next, in the AEC industry, time is frequently wasted toggling between different applications to carry out specific tasks. Many firms keep information isolated in disconnected systems, inadvertently causing delays and negatively affecting decision-making. With ACC, our goal is to help customers maintain workflows within a single application and a unified system of record. That’s why we’ll soon introduce Bridge for Closed RFIs, allowing users to share closed RFIs across projects or accounts via Bridge. This ensures all stakeholders have the answers they need to make confident decisions. This capability expands the types of information that can be shared across organizations and allows teams to preserve critical information throughout the project lifecycle and beyond. Another recent example of our commitment to equipping construction professionals with the tools they need to make smarter decisions is the integration of the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3) with ACC this summer. The EC3 integration enables users to stay within their system of record to perform carbon emission calculations and empowers teams to make more sustainable choices when selecting materials for a project. This reduction in technology management across the board enhances both productivity and the ability to make informed decisions swiftly with access to the right information. > Discover how the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator now integrates with Autodesk Construction Cloud. Finally, manual systems and a lack of coordination between 2D and 3D workflows often result in poor decision-making, impacting schedules and budgets. With today’s releases, a major emphasis is placed on increasing project transparency and filtering out unnecessary details to deliver only the most pertinent information to construction teams. Enhancing individual capacity by offering simplified and relevant information at every stage of the project leads to greater overall productivity. With ACC’s latest announcements, we’re working to empower more informed decision-making, bringing accurate and up-to-date project data directly to construction teams’ fingertips when and where they need it. This ensures our customers can continue delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. > Want to learn more about Autodesk Construction Cloud?
