6. All work in the cabinet is done in the middle or back of the work surface and can be seen from the observation panel.

8. The operator should not extend the arm back and forth out of the cabinet to avoid disturbing the airflow.

9. The forward style grille must not be blocked by sticky notes, pipettes, or other materials. Doing so may interfere with airflow and may contaminate the material and expose personnel to the exposed state.

10. The surface of the cabinet should be cleaned with a suitable disinfectant after each work is completed and at the end of the day.

11. The fans of the cabinet must each run for 5 minutes before the work starts and after the work is completed.

Biosafety cabinet placement

The airflow from the opening in the front face of the biological safety cabinet into the cabinet is approximately 0.45 m/s. With this wind speed, the consistency of the unidirectional flow in the cabinet is easily disturbed, and it is easily disturbed by the movements of people near the safety cabinet, window openings, air distribution devices, and door switches. Biological safety cabinet cleaning and disinfection

All items in the biosafety cabinet, including the equipment, should be surface decontaminated and removed from the cabinet after the work is completed, as residual culture medium may provide microbial growth conditions. The inner surface of the safety cabinet should be decontaminated before and after each use. To disinfect the surface of the table and the inner wall with disinfectants, the disinfectant used should be able to kill any microorganisms that may be present in the cabinet. At the end of the day's work, a final surface decontamination treatment should be performed, ie a full wipe of the table, sides, back, and inside of the glass. Bleach fluids or 70% alcohol can be used as effective disinfectants for target organisms. If a bleaching agent is used as a corrosive disinfectant, a secondary wipe with sterile water is required. It is recommended that the work cabinet be in working condition during cleaning and disinfection. If it is not in working condition, it should be run for 5 minutes in order to clear the gas before the safety cabinet is closed.

Biosafety cabinet decontamination

For the decontamination of Class 1 and Class 2 biological safety cabinets, an appropriate amount of paraformaldehyde (the final concentration of paraformaldehyde in the air in the cabinet is 80%) is placed on an electric hotplate or frying pan (control from outside the cabinet) ). An electric plate or frying pan containing 10% more bicarbonate than paraformaldehyde was also placed inside the cabinet (control outside the cabinet). This second container should be covered with a lid that can be removed from a distance (for example, on a line that can be pulled from outside the cabinet). This can minimize prematurely neutralized paraformaldehyde. If the relative temperature is below 70%, there is an open container for hot water. If there is no front bulkhead, use a plastic type plastic baffle and stick it to the front face with tape to ensure that no gas leaks into the room. When the paraformaldehyde in the tray has completely evaporated or the switch has been turned on for 1 hour, the switch is turned off. Keep the safety cabinet for a full night without touching it.
