2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 5-29-22

On May 29, 2022, a Sunday, the Chicago Fire Department responded to a fire at 4535/4539/4543 South on Justine Cross Streets. A change of quarters occurred at the same time, with Engine 15 replacing Engine 123, Engine 47 replacing Engine 50, and so on. At 19:54 hours, a 2-11 alarm was issued, bringing in more resources including Engines 116, 16, 28, and 65, along with Tower Ladder 5, Ladder (Truck) 15, and others. Multiple changes of quarters followed, with units like Engine 84 replacing Engine 116 and Engine 103 taking over for Engine 23. The incident involved multiple ladder trucks, battalions, and EMS units, showing the complexity of the situation. This was a significant fire with multiple alarms and rapid unit replacements, highlighting the coordinated effort of the Chicago Fire Department during this emergency.
